Terms of Service

Welcome to Bona Fide Bakery & Café ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms govern your access to and use of our websites, including bonafidebakery.cafe and drops.bonafidebakery.cafe (collectively, the "Site"). By reserving inventory or purchasing items, you agree to these Terms.

1. Storefront Reservations & Timers

Selecting items on our Drop Storefront initiates a 5-minute reservation timer. Items are temporarily placed on hold while you generate and copy your Payment Note. If payment is not initiated before the timer expires, the reserved items automatically return to the public inventory pool.

2. Order Finalization & Payment Notes

An inventory hold is not a guaranteed sale. Orders are officially confirmed only upon our receipt and manual verification of full payment. Customers are strictly required to attach the system-generated Payment Note (Customer Name, Items, and Pickup Location) to their Venmo or Cash App transaction. Unidentified payments may result in order cancellation.

3. Quantity & Batch Restrictions

We reserve the right to limit item purchase quantities per customer during limited drop events. We reserve the right to adjust batch counts, prices, or store opening times without prior notice.

Privacy Policy

Bona Fide Bakery & Café ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines how your information is collected, stored, and processed across bonafidebakery.cafe and drops.bonafidebakery.cafe.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum necessary information required to facilitate local pickup reservations and process order batch inventory:

  • Customer Name: Provided during checkout to identify your reserved order items.
  • Pickup Location & Time Slot: Selected during checkout to route your order to the correct pickup location.
  • Order & Reservation Quantities: Tracked to calculate total amount due and manage batch stock limits.
  • Technical & Usage Data: Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, device type) automatically logged by our web hosting provider (IONOS) and Google Firebase for network security and system diagnostics.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used strictly for operational purposes, including:

  • Allocating and holding limited-batch inventory during active "drop" events.
  • Verifying matching Payment Notes on off-site transactions (Venmo / Cash App).
  • Preparing and organizing order pickup rosters for our staff.

3. Data Storage & Third-Party Service Providers

We do not maintain a permanent marketing database or customer account portal. Our technical infrastructure utilizes trusted third-party providers:

  • Google Firebase Cloud Firestore: Real-time cloud database used to sync live item inventory counts, closure states, and active order notes. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest within Google Cloud infrastructure.
  • IONOS Web Hosting: Serves static website files and maintains standard infrastructure security logs.
  • Off-Site Payment Processors (Venmo & Cash App): We do not collect, process, or store credit card numbers, debit card details, or bank account credentials on our website. All financial transactions take place off-site within Venmo (PayPal, Inc.) or Cash App (Block, Inc.).

4. Cookies & Browser Local Storage

We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising trackers. We utilize your web browser's native localStorage solely for functional system requirements:

  • Storing authorized admin portal session tokens locally on your browser.
  • Saving temporary fallback storefront state data in the event of brief network latency.

5. Data Sharing & Selling Policy

We have a strict policy regarding your personal data: We do NOT sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with third-party advertisers, data brokers, or marketing firms.

6. Data Retention & Your Rights

Temporary reservation records are periodically purged following the conclusion of each drop pickup event. You may request the deletion of any reservation data associated with your name by contacting us at our main website or via our official social media channels.

Local Pickup & Refund Policy

1. Local Pickup Only

All items sold via our Drop Storefront are strictly for local pickup at the designated locations and time windows selected during checkout. We do not offer shipping or home delivery unless explicitly arranged in advance.

2. All Sales Final

Due to the perishable, handcrafted nature of our baked goods, all sales are final once payment is received. We cannot offer refunds or exchanges for change-of-mind cancellations or missed pickup windows.

3. Unclaimed Orders

Customers are responsible for arriving during their chosen pickup window. Orders unclaimed after the pickup window closes will be forfeited without a refund to maintain strict food safety standards.

Food Safety & Allergen Warning

Severe Allergen Notice: Our products are handcrafted in a facility that processes common food allergens. Menu items may contain or come into contact with Milk, Eggs, Wheat, Gluten, Soy, Peanuts, and Tree Nuts (including Almonds and Coconuts).

If you or someone you are purchasing for has a severe food allergy, please contact us directly before placing an order to verify ingredient safety. By purchasing from Bona Fide Bakery & Café, you acknowledge and accept these food safety terms.

3. Third-Party Limitations

We cannot directly control or modify the internal accessibility features of these external third-party software environments.
